Emergency Catering Equipment Rentals: Feeding Crews and Communities
2024-01-14 · 4 min read

Feeding operations scale badly without the right gear. Hot holding, beverage service and a clean flow of serveware are what keep a line of 300 moving instead of stalling. We stock the equipment feeding sites and base camps run on.
The core feeding kit
A functional serving line for 100–300 people usually needs:
- Chafing dishes with fuel for hot holding — plan one per entrée and side
- Beverage dispensers and coffee service for round-the-clock crews
- Serving utensils, trays and bus tubs
- 8ft banquet tables for the line, plus a separate prep and staging table
- Trash and recycling staging at the end of the line, not the middle
Throughput math
A single-sided serving line moves roughly 100 people per 20–30 minutes. If you're feeding more than 200 in one seating, run a double-sided line or two parallel lines — it's cheaper than the labor cost of everyone waiting.
Safety and sanitation
Hot food holds at 135°F or above; keep fuel stocked and check chafers on a schedule. Set up handwashing before the line, keep raw prep separated from serving, and confirm your local health district requirements for temporary feeding operations early — not the morning you open.
